Piedmont Triad International Airport 

Nestled between Greensboro,  High Point and Winston-Salem, Piedmont Triad International Airport started its operations from October 9, 1982. Piedmont Triad Airport Authority owns and operates Piedmont Triad International Airport. The airport incorporates 296,000 sq-ft of area on public levels, 25 parking positions for aircraft, ticket counter areas, 65,000 sq-ft of area below ground level, baggage claim counters, and three runways (10,001-foot long runway 5/23, 9,000-foot long runway 5L/23R, and 6,380-foot long runway 14/32).

Getting To Greensboro By Road

Interstate 85: Famed as the second largest interstate nestled in North Carolina, Interstate 85 connects South Carolina border to the Virginia border. It also connects the cities of Atlanta, Virginia, Charlotte, Richmond, Greensboro, Greenville, and Washington, D.C. The interstate enters North Carolina from Cherokee County. Near Kings Mountain, Interstate 85 take a turn from a northeast trajectory and provides access to Gastonia. It crosses the Catawba River and passes north of Charlotte-Douglas International Airport. After Charlotte, Interstate 85 runs northeastward into Cabarrus County, connecting Concord and Kannapolis. Interstate 85 is spread along the Greensboro Urban Loop and joins Interstate 40 east of downtown. A route originates from the junction of Interstates 85 and 40 and moves eastward to provide access to the cities of Chapel Hill, Raleigh, and Durham.

North Carolina Highway 68: North Carolina Highway 68 connects Interstate 40 and Piedmont Triad International Airport. Connecting Thomasville to Stokesdale, it also passes through High Point and connects it with the western outskirts of Greensboro and the town of Oak Ridge. After entering Greensboro, it joins Interstate 40.
